Strategic Planning and Strategic Conversations
“You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today.” – Abraham Lincoln, President
Strategic planning is a yoga-like long deep cleansing breath for an organization. It creates space to assess, anticipate, and act. We work with you to develop the appropriate process, ensure that the right people are at the table, and the outcomes are actionable. We build in check-ins at three and six months to make sure everything is on track and assist with course corrections.
“Individual commitment to a group effort – that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work.” – Vince Lombardi, Coach
An organization’s capacity to serve its mission is correlated with the capacity of its board. Effective boards don’t just happen. They are the result of a deliberative process that includes a deep understanding of roles and responsibilities. We’ll design a retreat or training session that has a lasting impact.
Organizational and Governance Assessments
“Working with some outside consultants or people that really can bring you an external perspective or a benchmarking to identify opportunities is a really good way to work.” – Denise Morrison, CEO, Campbell Soup Company
We’ll help you see the forest through the trees as we review a program, organizational chart, or governance structure. We’ll also do a full top to bottom assessment including program benchmarking and recommendations for optimizing effectiveness.
“Often, the pressure of the business and fear of having an open position encourages us to hire people who are either not right for the job or not ready to take on the responsibility.” – Maureen Chiquet, former CEO of Chanel
A bad hire is costly in money, time, and staff morale. Our services include partnering with you and your search committee to develop the position description, find the right candidate, and ensure success through on-boarding.
Workshop and Conference Presentations
“There are certain things in which mediocrity is not to be endured, such as poetry, music, painting, public speaking.” – Jean de la Bruyere, French Philosopher
Talking heads at a workshop or conference can be deadly. From leadership to best practices, I develop customized presentations that involve participants, inject some humor, and have a lasting impact.
